Uninova
UNINOVA is a multidisciplinary, independent, and non-profit research institute, founded in 1986 by the Faculty of S&T of the NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL – www.fct.unl.pt), a group of industrial associations, a financial holding, and up to 30 companies. Located in Lisbonmetropolitan area, UNINOVA hosts around 200 researchers aiming to pursue excellence in scientific research, technical development, advanced training, and education. By working closely with industry and universities, technological innovation is transferred into profitable business concepts and, existing products further developed to match new industrial requirements.
Since its foundation, UNINOVA has hosted the development of several Ph.D. thesis as well as acted as an active partner of Madan Parque (www.madanparque.pt). Through this link, UNINOVA supports to entrepreneurial activity and has contributed for the creation of several successful spin-offs. Within Smart4Health, and besides its role as Project Coordinator, UNINOVA is responsible for the development of the necessary IoT interoperability framework within each of the Citizen Use Case, leads Citizen Use Case 5 and is responsible for the user-targeted education.”
