The Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture (SRTC) is a Ministry of the Regional Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira which includes the Madeira Tourism Board.The Madeira Tourism Board, under the coordination of the SRTC, is focused on the study, management, promotion and monitoring of tourism in Madeira in accordance with the Regional Government policies for the tourism industry.
The role of the Madeira Tourism Board of the SRTC in the Smart4Health project entails the elaboration of a Citizen Use Case (CUC) activity that will feedback to the Smart4Health platform in order to assess its overall development. The CUC activity, which is dedicated to Citizen Health on Vacation and in Daily Life settings, aims to reach tourists visiting the Region and its local attractions (e.g. “levadas”, hiking, etc.), as well as local citizens. All participants will have the opportunity to partake in a back health check-up and, when feasible, a low back pain training programme for back pain prevention. The data collected for each participant will be uploaded onto the Smart4Health platform and all citizens will be able to provide valuable feedback and validation of the platform. In the case of tourists, they will provide further feedback upon return to their country of origin.
