On 13th December 2023, the Smart4Health close event took place at the Castanheiro hotel in Madeira.

]]>As part of the synergy with the SmartBear project and the Madeira Digital Health and Welbeeing initiative, on September 4th the participants get together in the mountains of Madeira. Citizens took a walk through nature in order to remember the benefits of physical activity for their health. It was an excellent opportunity for social interaction and exchange of experiences between everyone.

]]>The citizens of Madeira continue to have support and information about Smart4Health and other initiatives through the Madeira Digital Health and Welbeeing initiative stand located at Praça do Povo in Funchal, Madeira.
Madeira Digital Health and Wellbeing is a collaborative initiative that seeks to promote the application of digital technologies to health and wellbeing. The scope of the initiative goes way beyond dissemination of research results but also encompasses technology demonstration and deployment as a real mean to facilitate engagement and enrolment in the region of Madeira. The initiative intends to work as a platform for knowledge and experience sharing establishing links with the regional stakeholders and contributing for building up a strong and engaged community of citizens, healthcare professionals and technology providers.

]]>The 13th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Castres on the 17th of February 2023. The Health Day was held in collaboration with ISIS engineer school, a partner of I-VLAB.
The purpose of this Health Day is the opportunity to share vision about the Health Data value chain between different actors of the field. Different actors were involved in this event with the objective to highlight special topics as Health Safety or prevention. In the frame of Smart4Health, but also in other different environments, use cases were presented with various aspects of the global health as ageing or well-being illustrating the shift of the different value chains in this field. Around 50 participants attended the Health Day.

]]>The Public Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira – SESARAM, EPERAM – has successfully completed the integration with the prototype of a pan-European digital patient record, the Smart4Health platform, at the end of 2022. As a result, all individuals registered in the SESARAM patient portal (residents and tourists) are now able to synchronize their healthcare data with the Smart4Health platform. This allows any user of Madeira’s public health services to share its status information, medical records and clinical data, or test results, securely with other healthcare professionals and family members, anywhere and anytime, via the platform.
The involvement of the Madeira region in EU projects such as Smart4Health, as well as the establishment of the Madeira Digital Health and Wellbeing initiative, involving SESARAM, the Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection, the Regional Secretary of Tourism and Culture, and UNINOVA (Smart4Health coordinator), demonstrates that digital health is clearly a strategic area for Madeira, aiming to provide better care with the patient in the center of its activities.
