The 13th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Castres on the 17th of February 2023. The Health Day was held in collaboration with ISIS engineer school, a partner of I-VLAB.

The purpose of this Health Day is the opportunity to share vision about the Health Data value chain between different actors of the field. Different actors were involved in this event with the objective to highlight special topics as Health Safety or prevention. In the frame of Smart4Health, but also in other different environments, use cases were presented with various aspects of the global health as ageing or well-being illustrating the shift of the different value chains in this field. Around 50 participants attended the Health Day.

The 12th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Porto between 17 and 18 November 2022. The Health Day was held in collaboration with the “Health Data Forum Global Hybrid Summit 2022”.

During these days, the importance of the quality of healthcare data, how to measure data quality and how to improve it was discussed in depth and the challenges to obtaining high-quality data were considered, with strategies to management and improvement of people, processes, policies, measurements, technologies and standards being examined. A diverse group of participants, patient organizations, health care providers, academic and research centres, health policy makers, health ICT industry, and others attended the summit. The summit participants were also able to experience the different digital technologies aimed at promoting digital health and wellbeing developed in the context of the Smart4Health project in a dedicated demonstration stand.

The 11th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Bordeaux on the 8th of November 2022. The Health Day was held in collaboration with TIC Santé in Bordeaux.

The purpose of this Health Day was to present Smart4Health to the e-health community in France, including patients, hospitals and care networks. The needs and expectations of the stakeholders and the potential solutions and their interoperability were discussed. Health data ranging from basic identity features to pharmacogenomics were considered under different lights. Demonstration of the Smart4Health solutions was also made to show applied results.

The 10th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Funchal Madeira between 25 and 27 October 2022. The Health Day was integrated into the “Digital Transformation Summit”, an event that counted on the strong support of the regional government and authorities of tourism and health.

During these days, digital transformation topics in the health sector were discussed in depth and the challenges in the potential of digital transformation were considered, with strategies to establish solutions towards the definition of a concrete path for digital transformation being examined. A diverse group of participants, local, national and international, from a wide range of sectors (public services, private entities, HCPs, nurses, academics, SMEs) attended the summit, making this one of the most comprehensive Smart4Health Days held under the scope of the Smart4Health project. The summit participants were also able to experience the different digital technologies aimed at promoting digital health and wellbeing developed in the context of the Smart4Health project.

The 9th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Aachen Pascalstraße (business run), close to CUC4, on the 23rd of September 2022.

The purpose of this Health Day was to describe the Smart4Health project to the visitors of the business run in Aachen. All citizens who were interested in the topic of digitalization could visit the Smart4Health information desk. In particular, the employees of the companies in Pascalstraße could inform themselves about the project because CUC4 was going to start in the area in October 2022.

The 8th Smart4Health Health Day took place in the Lisbon region, close to CUC5, between 12 and 16 September 2022. The Health Day was held in parallel with the welcome activities for new students in collaboration with the NOVA School of Science and Technology.

During these days, the school community had the opportunity to learn more about the Smart4Health project and test the technological solutions developed in health digitalization. The participants also had the opportunity to participate in a giveaway through their participation in the CUC5 activities, contributing to citizen engagement in CUC5.

The 7th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Aachen Elisengalerie, close to CUC3, on the 4th of August 2022. The Health Day was held in collaboration with the MedX therapists of the MedAix back center in the Elisengalerie.

During this day the patients of the back center, as well as all citizens who were interested in the topic of digitalization, had the opportunity to be informed and answer questions about the Smart4Health project, Citizen Uses Cases, state of progress and how to participate, contributing to citizen engagement in the CUC3 activities.

The 5th Smart4Health Health Day took place in Guimarães, close to CUC5, between 28 and 30 June 2022. The Health Day was held in parallel with the “ICIE’2022 – International Conference Innovation in Engineering” in collaboration with the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The International conference where the Smart4Health project was presented brought together researchers, academics and industry. Participants were able to discuss the benefits of technology on integrated health, specifically on how Smart4Health can be used to improve the daily routine and the quality of life of workers at work and at home. For three days the participants also had hands-on experience with the platform and the Citizen Hub app, contributing to citizen engagement in the CUC5 activities.

Digital health can be defined as “tools and services that use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and management of health-related issues and to monitor and manage lifestyle-habits that impact health”. With a considerable slowdown in population growth, an acceleration in population ageing and an increase on citizens mobility in their professional, leisure and on holidays, Europe constitutes a multidimensional challenge for digital and health data that has only became more evident with the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The multitude of solutions being developed or already in the market are bringing digital health to the daily life of EU citizens, but are these solutions answering to their needs? Is health data being collected in appropriate ways and formats to allow better use and re-use?

Smart4Health coordination, UNINOVA, and Smart4Health partner, INTEROP-VLab, invite you to participate in the Smart4Health Health day on the 28th of June 2022 in Brussels (see program attached). The Health day will be an opportunity to join different stakeholders with different perspectives in one forum of discussion. EU projects Smart4Health and Smart Bear will go deep into their developments and on the way they are working together to implement a cross project pilot to provide increase value to their participants. Also, several EU projects will share their ideas and developments in different Use cases on digital health and European Commission representative, Dr. Christoph Klein, will share EC vision on Future Directions in Digital health. Together, we will discuss what is available and what is still missing to answer to needs, concerns and expectations in regards to health data and digital health.
